Another day, another draw at the World Champinoship in Moscow. At the half way point it is all locked up at 3-3 and CCN International Reporter, Deen Hergott is going to have his work cut out for him in his write up on the Match in the June issue. We can only hope that the players come out swinging in the second half, although it may be that both are content to go to the rapid play-offs.

In recently finished events, Parimarjan Negi won the Asian Continental Championship, Vassily Ivanchuk won his 6th straight Capablanca Memorial and Fabiano Caruana took the Sigeman International. Gata Kamsky holds a half point lead over Hikaru Nakamuara while Anna Zatonskih and Irina Krush are tied at the US Championship and Women’s Championship respectively. Play there concludes this weekend.

The Calgary International has passed the half-way point. A last minute add on was Canadian GM Anton Kovalyov. After 5 of 9 rounds, he sits tied for 1st with American GM Alexander Shabalov.
