The CFC Regular Chess Post – May 10/12 – McGill Open Championship.

Starts Tomorrow!

Dates: May 11th, 12th and 13th.
Place: University Community Center (Shatner Building, 3rd fl.) 3480 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC ( 5 minutes of walk from Peel or McGill Station ).
Tournament Format: 5 rounds Swiss, bring your own clock.
Sections: 4.
Section A (FQE, CFC and FIDE rated):
All players must have Elo over 2000(FIDE, FQE, USCF or CFC).
Free for GM’s, IM’s and FM’s.
Free for National Masters (or FIDE/FQE 2200+ players), if they confirm before April 1st. Otherwise NM’s have to pay 20$. However, NM’s still have to pay the standard fees while registration, which we will be refunded after the tournament.
Section B (U2000 FQE rated):
All players must have rating (FQE, CFC, FIDE or USCF) under 2000.
Section C (U1700 FQE rated):
All players must have rating (FQE, CFC, FIDE or USCF) under 1700.
Section D (U1400 FQE rated):
All players must have rating (FQE, CFC, FIDE or USCF) under 1400.

Time Control: 75 min/30 moves + 30 min/mat with 30 second increment each move.
Prizes: 3200 $ based on 70 paid entries.
80% of each additional paid entry will be added to the total prize.

TC: G/120 min per side.
Rounds: 5.
EF: $40 if preregistered by May 11th. If registration occurs after the 11th, entry fee is 60$.
Prizes: Based upon Entry Fees, as well as sponsored by our local Mr. Sub and McDonald's.
Eligibility: All players must be CFC members.
