3. 5min SD tie break;
4. Touch move, touch take;
5. Record until last 5 minutes
Daily Schedule: Orientation: 9:30-10:30am;Closing Ceremony: 4:30pm.

Now exactly one week away! Easter Monday, April 9.

Type: a chess camp
Featuring: International Master (IM) Tom O'Donnell
Timing: Most Ontario children do not have school on Easter Monday, but many parents are working. This event offers a great chess alternative! The official tournament runs between 9am and 5pm, but children can be dropped off as early as 8am, and picked up as late as 6pm.

Location: Grand Pacific Hotel, Victoria, (Canada).
Type: 6 round swiss – 2 sections – Open (FIDE and CFC rated); U1800 (CFC rated).
Time Control: Game in 90 minutes with a 30 second increment.
Prize Fund : guaranteed $5000 ( BC's largest chess tournament ).

The CFC Regular Chess Post – March 31/12 – CFC Spring Governors’ On-line Meeting.

Starts Tomorrow!! The CFC is run by 56 governors from across the country ( a province’s no. of governors is in relation to their provincial CFC membership ). They meet face-to-face in July at the AGM. And there are 3 quarterly on-line meetings. The Spring one starts tomorrow, Sunday, April 1, and runs to Saturday, April 7 ( they are confidential, but minutes are posted in the next Governor’s Letter in due course ). Generally a bit in excess of 50% of the governors attend. Reports will be reviewed, issues debated, and there are a number of motions to be voted on. If you have issues you want dealt with, contact your local governor and help prepare a submission.

– Friday, April 6!!

The 2012 BC Chess Challenge will be held in Victoria at the Hotel Grand Pacific. The BC Chess Challenge is a qualifier for the Canadian Chess Challenge to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 20 to 21st.

The BC Chess Challenge is open to qualified players from Kindergarten to Grade 12 only. Preregistration for the BC Chess Challenge is mandatory. Please register and pay online at the following link http://www.bcjuniorchess.com/ A list of qualified players is posted on the BC Junior chess website.
