The CFC Regular Chess Post ( Week of Dec. 23 - 29/11 )

The CFC Regular Chess Post – Dec. 29/11 – 2012 Winter Governors’ On-line Meeting & Happy New Year!

There are currently 58 CFC Governors from across Canada. They meet quarterly, 3 times on-line, and once face to face at the AGM held during the Canadian Open, which in 2012 will be in Victoria, B.C.. Reports of officers are heard, current issues debated, and motions voted on. The next quarterly meeting is the 2012 Winter Meeting. It starts, if you can believe it, on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2012 ( your tax dollars at work )! We won’t hold our breath as to how many hung-over governors may show up for the opening. But it runs for 7 consecutive days ( and sometimes is extended if more time is needed for voting ) – so hopefully the majority of governors will sign in sometime during the first few days, and then be available for the voting on motions ( there appear to be at least 5 this meeting ). Though these meetings are confidential, minutes of the meetings are published and posted on the CFC website in due course after the meetings. And, to end, a hearty Happy New Year to all from CFC!
