The CFC Regular Chess Post – October 13/11 – 2011 BC Championship. This was an 8-player round robin played in Burnaby, B.C, during the Thanksgiving Weekend. The CFC Regular Chess Post – October 12/11 – A National and Local Tournament. 2011 Canadian Women’s Championship - This 6 round swiss had 16 players and was played the Thanksgiving weekend at the Annex Chess Club in Toronto. The new Canadian Women’s Champion is former champion, WIM Natalia Khoudgarian, who scored 5.5/6 pts.. Toronto Thanksgiving Open - This 6-round swiss was played the Thanksgiving Weekend at the Toronto Annex Chess Club. It was in three sections: Open, U 2000, U 1600. It attracted 82 players. The winner was IM Nikolay Noritsyn with 5.5/6 pts., giving up a draw in the last round when he had already clinched first place. Bob Armstrong, CFC Public Relations Coordinator

The CFC Regular Chess Post – October 11/11 – Alberta Open Results. This year’s tournament was a 6-round swiss held at the Edmonton CC between October 8th-10th. The registration was 34 players. The winner (if an Albertan) qualified to the 2011 Alberta Closed. The co-winners were Albertans IM Edward Porper, and NV Jeff Reeve. Website: http://albertachess.org/2011AO.html .
