The CFC Regular Chess Post – Oct. 5/11 – Canadian Women’s Chess Championship. Oct. 8 – 10; organized by the Chess Institute of Canada, and to be played at the Toronto Annex CC; 6 round swiss; the 2011 champion will win a position on the 2012 Canadian Women’s Olympiad team, and also receive free accommodation in Montreal for the 2012 Canadian Women’s Championship (courtesy of the 2012 organizers). 9 players pre-registered, with another three having given notice of intention to register. The CFC Regular Chess Post – Oct. 4/11 - Ottawa Autumn Open Winner. Sept. 30 - Oct. 2. 5 round round-robin and swiss. 4 sections, with A being a top 6-player RR. At the RA Centre. 1st tournament of the Eastern Ontario Chess Association Grand Prix. The winner of the top “ A “ section was current Canadian Champion, GM Bator Sambuev, who won all 5 games.
