Chess'n Math organized the 2013 North American Youth Chess Championship and offered an incredible opportunity to Canadian players.
It is with great pleasure that I spent the week in Toronto, in order to not only coach the 23 kids from Quebec (and some familiar players from Haïti and Ontario) with FM Lefong Hua, but also to see how can an event with over 350 players be organized without major issues. The numerous members of the organizing team made sure that everything went smoothly and besides some delay for the pairings to be posted online and the closing ceremony being 90 minutes late, everything seemed to be under control. They offered cheap accomodation in Downtown Toronto, a nice playing hall, lots of strong players and 9 rounds for less than $100!
